Another Rainy Day in Nagasaki, Japan, 2016

“This is a view of the Main Street taken from a tram in the Historic City of Nagasaki on the southern island of Kyushu in Japan. The quiet streetscape as seen through the front windshield of the tram on another rainy day caught the attention of the photographer. The tram is vintage but retrofitted with modern ticketing equipment. A conductor is no longer on board. A lone driver operates the tram and also keeps track of the riders. There is so much to explore in the Historic City of Nagasaki. The tram is an essential means for engaging the dynamic historic fabric and the unique cultural heritage of Nagasaki.”
