This photograph was made close to the city I live in, Targu Neamt (Romania, Neamt County). The lake is called Cuejdel and it is actually a natural dam formed by landslides, which explains the trees in the water.
On a Sunday morning on October 9, 2016, I was fortunate to experience a special moment. Usually at this time of year, the lake is spectacular, the fall colours and the fog revealed an atmosphere I imagined and expected for a long time.
I first pursued this place in 2014 and have photographed the lake ever since, in every season and at all times of day, trying to find the best moment. After many trips to Cuejdel, most of the time I came back frustrated for not finding a certain light that I was looking for or discontent with the technical results. But on that Sunday morning, every detail fell into place: the light, the fog and especially inspiration. Cuejdel is the place where I usually come to relax and practice my photography, but now, after many trials, I can say that this is the image I’m most pleased with.
