Hoo’s There, Boulder, Colorado, 2005

This bird was a rehabilitation bird that the Birds of Prey Foundation had received injured from the wild and were in the process of rehabilitating it to release back to the wild.

I was fortunate enough to visit with this barn owl and the Birds of Prey Foundation at a farm in Boulder Colorado to photograph it in this fitting setting on the farm. Since 1981 the Birds of Prey Foundation has accepted over 16,000 birds.

Hundreds of these magnificent birds enjoy a second chance at freedom every year thanks to the dedication of the Birds of Prey Foundation.
